Context: Announcement of the new season of Meilleur Pâtissier

To promote the new season of one of its flagship shows, 'Le Meilleur Pâtissier', the M6 channel called on IDZ Production to produce their launch video. IDZ Production wanted to add a touch of freshness and fun to the advert, so they called on our VFX department to work with them to create a 3D animated bee.

Service: creation and animation of a bee

Our main task in this project was to create and integrate the 3D bee into the presentation video.
We modelled and animated the bee (called Marguerite by our team) in 3D, reproducing its body, wings and hair. Using video and reference images, we carried out a rigorous shot-by-shot treatment. Meticulous matchmoving was carried out to capture all the complex camera movements (carried out by an FPV drone). A reconstruction of the environment and lighting was necessary to make its integration realistic (work on light and shadow, reflections, etc.), particularly due to its indoor and outdoor passages.

We also created flames (3D simulation) on one of the shots of the pastry chefs holding a frying pan.
